Jamie's Birthday

Yesterday we went to Roca Bar in Newburgh to celebrate Jamie's birthday!

Clay bought some wonderful party favors from Walmart...LOL...

Keelin LOVED them and look...her daddy is even being a good sport!

Emmy didn't seem to mind the tiara on her head.

digging in!!!
Clay and Drew's brothers, Taylor and Austin, are in town from Colorado Springs! They joined in the festivities last night! Along with Deb, Butch, Kate, Allen, Joe, Anne, Pops, Trevor, and our clan of 4.

The Cake...count the candles!

Keelin always volunteering to help with the blowing out of birthday candles!

The birthday girl.

cake! please!
Keelin is first in line...surprise...surprise!

Geist Half Marathon

We went to Indianapolis Friday, May 21 to Saturday, May 22 so I could run the Geist Half Marathon. We went to dinner Friday night at Buca Di Beppo with my friend, Liz, and her husband, Tommy, and their daughter, Sophia. We were definitely in the party room at dinner. There were 2 big birthday groups and a big bachlorette group in the same dining area as us!

Keelin holding the sign Drew made me at the expo.

At mile 3.5 I ran right by them because I thought they would be on the right side of the road. I kept looking over my right shoulder to try to see around that bus. Low and behold...they were on the left side of the road and I ran right by them and didn't see them :(

Drew did get a picture of me!

They walked back up the road to mile 12.5. The course is a big circle around the Geist reservoir.
I did see them at this point in the race!

I posted how I did in the race on my training blog. Click on it HERE or it is also linked on the right side of this blog under the My Blogs.
After the race we were able to meet my friend, Heather, and her husband, Beau, for lunch in Broad Ripple on our way back home. It was a quick trip but it was nice to be able to visit with friends.

Emmy Continued...

Saturday, May 22: Emmy had puffs for the first time

Sunday, May 23: I put pears in this mesh pocket "thing" and Emmy loved it! I had to refill it two more times with cut up pears.

"Oh, hey mom! Yes...I know I am suppose to be sleeping, but I thought I would work on this crawling thing!"
I laid her back down on her back.
When I went back to check on her again she was sitting up in her crib grinning from ear to ear like she was so proud of herself.
So...she can get herself into a sitting position now too!

Emmy is 8 Months Old!

Emmy is 8 months old today! She is growing up too fast!
She sits up very well!

She pushes up on her arms very well too!

This is her new trick...kinda looks like she is trying to do a headstand!

Just this week she has really become very mobile! She is not crawling (the traditional way!) but she has this funny scoot! If you put something out in front of her she will scoot using her head on the floor and her feet (like the picture). It is interesting!
I have not weighed or measured her yet. I need to do that!

News and Newspaper!!!!

While we were in Green Bay, Drew was interviewed on Channel 5 News and his picture appeared online in the Green Bay Press Gazette.

This is the picture that was online.
Click HERE to link to the online picture.
It is picture number 17/56.

This is the news clip. I taped the TV with my camera.

Tara's Graduation Party

Sunday, May 16:
After the marathon we went to Chicago Street Pub to help my cousin, Tara, celebrate graduating with her Masters of Education.

Aunt Mary, my mom, Aunt Linda, Aunt Margaret, and Uncle Steve

There was a play table in the corner of the pub! Perfect for Keelin! She spent most of her time playing! She only stopped to eat.

Emmy enjoying her Aunt Linda!

Marathon!!!

Sunday, May 16:
Drew ran the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon! 26.2 miles in 3 hours 51 minutes!

I dropped Drew off at Lambeau Field at 6:30 am.
Mile 10.5
My parents, the girls, and I watched Drew run by us
Keelin was so excited to see her daddy!

Drew sees us on the side of the road!

He stopped briefly to give both of the girls (and me!) a kiss!

Mile 17
We drove around to the boat launch on the fox trail to see Drew again
Emmy enjoyed the race too!
My grandma, Aunt Mary, and Aunt Linda joined us here too!

Drew excited again to see his girls!
At mile 19 my Aunt Selys, Uncle Steve, cousins Tara and Greg walked down to the Fox Trail to see Drew run by!!

Mile 21
He still looked great!!!

Keelin ran with Drew about 20 feet along the trail!

Keelin in Lambeau Field waiting for her daddy to run by!

Drew circling Lambeau Field...knowing he is almost done!

The home stretch!

Finishing the Marathon!

Keelin ran to her daddy (who was walking VERY SLOW!)

After the race

Drew signed me up to get text messages at different points during the race. Every time he ran over a timing mat the chip on his shoe activated a text. I received texts for miles 5, 10, 13.1, 15, 20, 25, and 26.2!
WAY TO GO DREW!!!!!!

Swimming and Dinner

Saturday, May 15:
After my race on Saturday, we went to Panera for lunch and then back to our hotel to go swimming.

Emmy with her great grandma
Emmy went swimming for the first time but I didn't get a good picture of her in the water :(

We went to 4pm Mass at the Catholic Church my aunts go to and then we went back to my their house for a pasta dinner.
Drew doesn't like the girls to match so I got away with it by putting Keelin in jeans and a white shirt and Emmy in khakis with a pink onesie...the sweaters match but the whole outfit doesn't technically match!!!!!!!

Mini-Marathon

Saturday, May 15:
I ran the Green Bay Mini-Marathon which was 2.62 miles.

My Aunt Selys, Uncle Steve, and cousin Tara volunteered the morning of the race. I picked up my race bib from them!

I am standing in front of the start line.

Right before the race started.

(I am the one in gray and black.)
The end of the race was a loop around Lambeau Field!

There were over 2,000 runners in this event! There was no official times for runners. It was more of a fun run. They were giving out commemorative technical t-shirts to the top ten male and top ten female runners right after crossing the finish line.
I finished the race in 19 min. 16 sec. (6:57 pace!) When the two girls in front of me (see above picture) crossed the finish line they were counted 9 and 10 and were taken into a tent. A gate was pulled closed behind them as I crossed the finish line... I was number 11....uuuggghhh!
Later I ran into those two girls and I found out that once they were in the tent. They found out that they were actually 11 and 12 and did not get t-shirts. They ended up pulling too many females into the winners' tent. That made me feel a little better.
so...needless to say...I had a great race!
Me with my parents and Keelin after the race

Marathon Expo at Lambeau Field

Friday, May 14: Evening
Drew and I took the girls to Lambeau Field so he could pick up his Marathon race packet.

I took a bunch of pictures of Lambeau...inside and outside!
Drew with the girls by one of the gates.

Keelin and I made Drew a sign for his race while him and Emmy walked around the expo. They had 3 big tables full of items to make signs!! What a great idea!!!

Drew was waiting for me while I was at one of the vendors...and he was approach by CBS channel 5 news for an interview!!! I took a picture of him! It was on the 6pm news! I will post the footage of his interview in a later post.

The Race Expo

After the expo we met everyone for dinner at Curly's for dinner.

Everyone at Curly's

Keelin being silly with her Aunt Selys

My dad getting giggles from Emmy!
Look at that sunset!

We went over to my aunts' house to watch the news.
I took a picture of the TV! (video soon to come)
I think we watched the news clip like 20 times! Keelin enjoyed seeing herself on TV!

Emmy, "Was that me on TV?"
