Ball State

I was able to get away for a quick weekend to Ball State for the Homecoming football game.  It was so nice to visit with good friends from college.

Jamie, myself, and Liz at the football game.

At HB's house before the game (ready)
 (not ready)

clown car!
I got to meet Aven for the first time...and she is already over a year old!  Keelin and Emmy got her the skirt she has on for her first birthday.

The Last Few Weeks!

Keelin started Girls Scouts this year.  She is a "Daisy" and I am one of her leaders.  I have applied, read info, watched videos, and attended a class, so hopefully I am ready to go.
Keelin is excited and has already attended 3 meetings.

Thursday, September 20th:  Hannah and Keelin wearing their new daisy uniform to school and watching a Brownies skit at the troop meeting.

We went to a BOR cookout.  It was nice hanging out with other runners (while NOT running.)  Emmy was not a fan of roasting marshmallows.

Emmy has been obsessed with pirates lately.  Keelin used my scholastic book order box to make Emmy a pirate ship.

Keelin was a little big for the ship, but Emmy sure likes to row her boat.

Last Sunday, we celebrated Drew's cousin, Jackie's, 50th birthday.  We all got together for pizza at Roca Bar North.  It was a fun time.

 Keelin with her mamaw.

And last but not least...Drew ran 35 miles last Saturday morning for his longest training run before his 50 miler.  We went down to the YMCA to see him finish.  When we got there, he was already done and was still full of energy.  He then ran 16 more miles on Sunday morning to run 51 miles in two days and 80 miles for the whole week. YIKES.  He sure is ready.

Keelin's 1 Mile Race

Saturday, October 6th
Over the past few months Keelin has been completing a half marathon.  She has run 12- 1 miles runs with either Drew or myself.  Today was her final 1.1 mile to complete a half marathon.
I wish I would have taken a picture of her log before we turned it in at race pick-up.

Getting warmed up.  It was a cold day.

All the 5/6 year old boys and girls
Now just the girls.  Keelin was in the last group of kids to start the race.

Here she is about 3/4 of a mile into her race.  She is running down Riverside in downtown Evansville.

Keelin is about to finish.
You can see Drew and Emmy cheering for Keelin to finish.
She was so proud that she ran the whole mile... "Look at my medal."

Keelin Race Video

Here is the start of Keelin's one mile race.  We spent so much time talking about pacing and starting slow... that all went out the window today.

Keelin's Intro Reading at Mass

Keelin read the introduction at the Kindergarten school Mass on Thursday.  She practiced for weeks!  To the point where Emmy could say most of it too!  She did a great job!  We are so proud of her!

Fall Festival

On Sunday, September 30th, We took the girls to ride rides at the Fall Festival.  This has become a yearly tradition now.  This year it was not crowded and the weather held up. Emmy was able to ride almost all the kid rides this year.

On Thursday, October 4th, I worked in the MEO booth with many other teachers from Holy Spirit.  We always have a ton of fun and it seems to always be CRAZY busy.  I worked on the grill again this year.

Soccer Video

Here is video of Keelin during her soccer game.

More Soccer

Keelin's 2nd soccer game was Saturday, September 15th.

"Coach Drew"

She continues to play very aggressive soccer.

Sore Feet

Drew has been running quite few miles lately!  Last
week he ran 70 miles.  One afternoon he was soaking
his feet in salt water to help with the healing process.

I walked through the house to go upstairs and I found Keelin in the playroom like this...

She found her own tub and filled it with water and was soaking her feet too.  so silly.

Emmy's Birthday Parties

Emmy turned 3 on September 18th.
I took her picture a few weeks before her birthday to make her invitations.
We had a small family party and everyone was able to come!

Mamaw and Papaw had a Rapunzel cake made for Emmy's party.  Not only did it look awesome, it tasted awesome too.

Keelin made Emmy a big Happy Birthday sign to hang up on the mantle.

The girls had fun playing with their Aunt Kate at the party.

Emmy loved her cake.

Opening presents.  Emmy opened a lot of clothes...which she needed.  She would say, "More pants!"

Drew and I got her the Jake and the Neverland Pirates' ship (Bucky).  She loved it.

Singing Happy Birthday to Emmy and blowing out the candle.

The weather was so beautiful we were able to spend some time outside playing.
Ashlyn was not a fan of the Barbie car once it started moving.

Emmy is my little monkey! I have to watch her.

Emmy... or Glenda (the good witch from the East?)

Here is Emmy on her actual birthday.  How appropriate that she choose to wear her monkey jacket.
September 18th

Emmy's daycare had a "Happy Birthday" sign hanging on the door.  Emmy was so excited that the sign was hanging for her.
Emmy chose Chuck E Cheese for her birthday dinner.  It was so nice going on a Tuesday night.  I think there was maybe 3 other families.  We pretty much had the place to ourselves.

Emmy had a wonderful birthday and was spoiled by her family.
I can't believe my baby is 3.
