Halloween Decorations

Saturday, October 1
I told Keelin once it was October we could pull out the Halloween decorations.  We went to JoAnn's and bought new decorations for our new house.

P.S. A trip to the pumpkin patch is planned for tomorrow!

Keelin's Preschool Events

Wednesday, September 28: Firetruck Visit
The local fire department came to visit the preschool, Kindergarten, and 1st grade.

The preschoolers listening to the fireman.

Keelin was excited because her daddy came for this special event!

They taught the kids not to be afraid of a fire fighter if they ever have to come into your house to rescue you.

Keelin in the firetruck.

Friday, September 30:  Elegant Party
Keelin's preschool class was learning the letter "e", so they had an elegant party!  Keelin was so excited to wear her dress from her Aunt Shauna and Uncle Jeff's wedding.

Race for the Cure

Saturday, September 24:  Race for the Cure
It was a rainy morning!  Drew actually ran 22 miles this morning before the race.  Good thing we walked the 5K.  I believe the rain scared many people away but it was still a pretty big crowd of people.  We walked by ourselves because we didn't see anyone there from our team.
Ready to go!  A break from the rain!

The girls had premier seating during this rainy walk!  Many people were commenting on how nice they had it tucked cozily in their stroller!  Drew and I got wet, but managed.  Keelin actually brought her Princess umbrella and Drew used it a few times.  People were taking pictures of him and making comments on how pink looked good on him or that he was a confident man to use a princess umbrella!  I wish I had a picture of it!
Ready to begin our walk for a cure!

Emmy's 2 !!!

French Braids!  I remember the first time I was able to french braid Keelin's hair...see here.  It took longer for me to braid Emmy's hair because she has a curly head of hair!  I think she looks so different in these pictures because I am so use to her head full of curls.

 Sunday, September 18:  Emmy's Birthday.
She wanted to open her presents!

Check out the cut above her left eye!  That was from the night before... I told her it was bedtime and she dove into the beanbag which was too close to the toy box... I heard a "clunk"...silences...and screaming.  Poor girl...beat up for her birthday.

presents

enjoying her presents!

Keelin picked out a Dora dress for Emmy to play dress up with her in.

chocolate cake! (and she couldn't blow out her candles!  Keelin had to help her!)
Balloons!

I can't believe Emmy is two!  She is growing up so fast and is more and more independent.  Keelin and Emmy love to play together!  and Emmy does a great job entertaining herself when she plays.  I love to sit back and watch her play with her babies and toys.  She talks to them (in her own language).
She definitely jumped right into the terrible twos too!  She had quite a few trips to time-out at daycare the week after she turned 2!  She was hitting, biting, scratching, pushing, kicking, etc.  You name it...she did it!  My little bully.  (not funny)
She is still struggling with the whole talking thing.  We had her tested through a program called "First Steps" and she qualifies for speech.  A speech therapist will work with Emmy once a week for an hour.  We hope once she can communicate better with words, she won't be so physical in her communication.  (Instead of saying, "no" or "stop", she hits or pushes.)  I have talked to my good friend, Nicole, from back home who is a speech therapist and she helped me understand more about what Emmy needs to work on.

Hannah's Birthday Party

Friday, September 9th:
Keelin went bowling for the first time at her friend Hannah's birthday party.  She loved it!

 Maddie, Keelin, Aubrey, and Hannah

 Keelin giving Hannah some encouragement!

 bowling shoes!

Keelin had a 19 going into the 6th frame...and this was bumper bowling too!  She could use some practice!

 The girls enjoying pizza.

Hannah got a bowling pin from the bowling aisle!  Everyone signed it.

Keelin picked out a Barbie for Hannah.
A big group hug!  The girls had so much fun!

Blankets

The girls got very cute blankets/quilts from my Aunt Mary's friend Judy.  Judy's mom made them for the girls.  They love their blankets and use them often.

Hiking

Monday, August 29th:  Our last day in Sedona
We went on a hike with Jeff and Shauna. Drew's sister, Kristin, joined us for the day.

Jeff and Shauna on the way up!

Keelin with her Aunt Kristin...taking a little break.

This is where Jeff proposed to Shauna!  They are reenacting it for us.
