Aunt Mary's Visit

My Aunt Mary came to visit us from Green Bay.  She flew into Evansville on Friday (6/3)evening.  Her friend Judy comes to Evansville often to do training for Old National and Aunt Mary decided to join her for one of her trips so she could spend some time with us.

On Sunday, we went to French Link for the day.  We stopped at two wineries and then went to the Casino.  The first winery we went to was Winzerwald.

The sign fell down during one of the bad storms.
We went to the French Lick Winery.

The French Lick Resort and Casino...where Aunt Mary won MONEY!
I would love to go back just to rent one of these bikes.

On Monday, we went to Mesker Park Zoo

This snake was spotted by Keelin...not in a cage.  It was out for a "slither" in the zoo.
Always a helpful hand...giving her sister a boost.
It was a HOT day and the girls loved the mist.
As we were walking out to leave...I turned around to see Keelin walking "nudy tudy" and Aunt Mary is wringing out her outfit.
I told Keelin she could not walk out of the zoo without clothes on so Judy gave Keelin her outer shirt to wear.

Our Basement Life

We have been living in my in-laws basement for 2 weeks, while we waited to get possession of and fix up our new house.  Here is our set-up.

I loved our 4 dressers around the support beam.
 boxes...boxes...boxes (and more stuff)

The girls wearing their Christmas dresses one morning.  Since they could get into almost anything...they did.

 The girls make-shift play area.

 Emmy and I's hanging clothes.
 Drew and Keelin's hanging clothes.
What impressed me the most was we could fit 3 closets of hanging clothes in 1 closet!!!!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Saturday, May 28th: Hiking at Audubon Park
We got Emmy a backpack carrier this weekend because I will be hiking with the girls in Michigan in a couple  weeks and we will be hiking in Sedona, AZ in August when we are out there for my brother's wedding.  We thought we would give it a test run.  She is at that age where she can walk but she is not ready for a rugged hike.

Sunday, May 29th:  Cookout at our New Temporary Residence! or Mamaw and Papaw's House
I cut up watermelon while we were playing games in the yard and this is what we witnessed Emmy doing.  She had her own idea on how to eat watermelon!

I believe she ate 3 whole pieces of watermelon...what a mess.
Keelin and I in our purple dresses.
Papaw was blowing bubbles at us!

Monday, May 30:  Golfing and Lowe's
Drew took Keelin to Wesselman's to play golf for the first time.  She is technically too young for the course but they let her play anyway.  She had a great time!  I did not get any pictures :(.  Emmy and I went shopping at Target and the mall when they were playing.  We all went to Lowe's to buy paint for the new house.  Drew and I got to layout by the pool this afternoon and just relax while the girls took a nap...it was so nice!

Keelin's Preschool Graduation

Wednesday, May 25:  Keelin's Preschool class had their promotion/graduation program.  Drew and I both attended it.  It was a very nice production!  Keelin has been singing the songs for like a month now so it was nice to see it all put together.  It was really bitter sweet...Mrs. Woods retired this year so it had a special touch to it.

As much of the group as I could get with my camera.  The theme was BUGS...Jeepers Creepers.

Dora at the Zoo

Sunday, May 22:  Dora and Diego came to Mesker Park Zoo!
Kate and I took the girls to the zoo.  It was Kate's first trip to the zoo in a long time.

Hugs...How sweet!

Sickness

I have been sick!  and I don't get sick... This bug stuck around for 6 days!  Today I finally feel like myself...100%...ready to go.  Holy moly...it was the worst week to get sick.  It was the last week of school and we had to be moved out of our house by Friday at noon.  We managed to get it all done and I survived.  We are currently living in my in-laws basement (for 12 days), my classroom is closed up for the summer, and my health is restored.  It is a good day.

Bird Feeder and Flowers

Keelin made a bird feeder at preschool and we hung it in our peach tree in the backyard.  She has loved watching the birds come feed off of it.  Needless to say...it is completely stripped of all the seeds now!

Our Peony plants are in full bloom.  I loved these plants and I will definitely be planting new ones at our new house.
