Summer Days (Actually it is STILL Spring!)

Here are some pictures from the past month! Keelin has grown so fast and keeps us busy! We are spending these 90 degree days in the pool. Thankfully, Keelin loves the water and being outside!

Our little fence climber!

She loves being thrown in the air in the pool

The Girls Getaway to Seattle!

I returned home from my wonderful Seattle vacation! I went out to visit my good friend, Jamie, whom I went to Ball State with. Actually 4 of us (Trina, Heather, Courtney, and I) all went out to see Jamie, Seattle, and each other! We had such a wonderful time catching up (which doesn't take long with us!) Jamie is in Seattle for only 1 year doing a Dental residency. She is one of 8 interns. They are the "REAL" Gray's Anatomy! Jamie had to work for a day and half while we were there but with the sight seeing packet she made for us and Trina's iPhone, we were able to find our way around just fine! I took over 150 pictures (don't worry I didn't put them all on here!) It was nice to get away and hang with the girls! Enjoy the pics!

I was the only one with a child out in Seattle, so...
I was called "Mom on Vacation"
HB has the "M" and Trina the "V"

Ready to go out for Jamie's 28th birthday!

We went to live music at The Triple Door!
The band was great and the espresso martini's were energizing!
Our group of about 13 headed on to a Irish pub to continue celebrating
Jamie's birthday. It was a late night (and the 3rd night out in a row!)

Saturday we spent all day on the road traveling around the Olympic Peninsula.
We stopped at Ruby Beach and took too many pictures!

We climbed quite a few rocks!

We took too many jumping pictures! I don't have our group jumping pictures on my
camera, so I will have to add them later. This is me showing I still have some spring left
in my legs.

I still have some balance too! Being that we were all "past"gymnasts, we had
some fun pulling out some old skills.

The scenery was beautiful! (and I am not talking about us)
The rocky Pacific coast was breathe taking!

We stopped along Lake Crescent as we drove the northern part of the peninsula.

We went up to Hurricane Ridge to view the Olympic Mountains.
The deer were not skittish.

Handstand on the edge! (not really but it does look like it in the picture)

Trina and I on the ferry headed back to Seattle. The city at night was amazing!
The road trip took so long we had to take the 9:45pm ferry back.
We planned to get Sushi, but had to settle for pizza since it was so late.
We picked up pizza and visited the troll under the bridge.

I flew back to Evansville early the next morning. The trip was jam packed and
tons of fun! It was a vacation I desperately needed.

Race Day

This weekend Drew and I ran the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon (13.1 miles). Drew finally beat my half marathon time of 1hr 48mins!! (I know it was bugging him that I had a faster PR than he did!!) Well...he can finally say his 1hr 46mins is faster then my best time. As for me...I didn't run as well as I wanted to. I ran a 2hr 6min time. Drew's brother, Clay, ran too and finished 1hr 55mins. We were all about 10 minutes apart in our finishes. Keelin spent the 2 hours with Aunt Jamie walking along the canal and Military Park. It was a perfect morning for a run. NO rain and the temp was in the 50's. If my hips and back didn' t hurt so much after mile 9 I may have enjoyed myself a little more. Drew felt great the entire race and really took advantage of it. I am so glad he had a great race.
My favorite part of the run is still the lap around the Indy race track. They take your picture as you run over the brickyard.

Here is a link to the race results.

Update on Us

Hi all! I never really use this blog to type. I usually just upload pictures of Keelin or our family. We have been so busy lately! We are getting lost in the spring season. Drew is spending a lot of time outside in the yard. He took out our fish pond. It was hard to keep up and Keelin was very interested in it! Since she is 16 months old... a shallow fishpond and her did not seem like a good combination. We took the 8 goldfish to a bigger pond where they probably became a nice snack for the bass, but we don't want to think about that. We didn't want to just kill them so a more natural setting (death) would be better for us to comprehend. Poor fish.
We are getting new flooring in our great room and hallway. The berber carpet needs to go! We are putting hardwood in the foyer and hallway and carpet in the great room. Can't wait til May!
Keelin had a few milestones this past weekend. We went to dinner at Los Bravos Saturday night and she drank out of a straw for the first time. The look on her face when the water hit her mouth was priceless! She loved it and continued to drink water the whole time we were there. She also is trying to say papaw! It is so cute! We spent Sunday night at Drew's dad's house. He had a birthday dinner for Clay and Drew. Drew just turned 29!
Drew and I are training to run the Indy Half Marathon in May. It is only a few weeks away. I ran 12 miles last Sunday (8 days ago) and haven't been out running since. Not because I was sore, just not finding time (and motivation :( )
I am looking forward to the school year end! I am ready to have more time on my hands to do somethings I want to get done or do!

Two Peas in a Pod

Keelin and Moose are becoming little buddies. I believe Keelin loves Moose quite a bit more than Moose feels about Keelin! They are little goobers! If one is not making trouble the other is!
