Easter Eggs

On Good Friday, the girls and I dyed eggs.

Almost done...just adding the glitter!

I have to note...I was able to keep the glitter very neat.
When we were all done, all the glitter was contained on a paper plate and ready to be thrown away.  That was until Keelin decided to blow as hard as she could over the paper plate...
You can only imagine the glitter cloud she produced... and the amount of glitter that had to be cleaned up.  Needless to say, glitter eggs will not be done again.

Dresses and Snack

I made the girls some simple Easter dresses this year!  I spent some time over spring break making them.  At first I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew...but with perseverance...I finished them. I am pretty happy with how they turned out.

Keelin had snack at preschool on Holy Thursday.  We made a bunny cake for her snack!

Finished Trampoline

Our trampoline is finished!  Actually... it has been for a few weeks!
(I just can't seem to blog fast enough.)

Keelin and Emmy are loving the trampoline, but not nearly as much as ME!
I feel like a kid again!

Mesker Park Zoo

It has been a zoo week!  I took Keelin to Mesker Park Zoo on Friday so I could update my scavenger hunt for my second graders when we go there on a field trip in a few weeks.  Good thing I did...4 animals in my old scavenger hunt are no longer at our zoo!

Keelin and I started our day by dropping Emmy off at daycare.  We then went to Panera for breakfast.  We had to pick up Drew's truck at Kenny Kent and drop off the beautiful 2011 bright red Corolla I had been driving for the last few days  :(  Then on to the zoo!

The lemurs were out!!  I never see them!

Many of the animals were very active today!  We even saw a few feedings!

Keelin and I took out a paddle boat!  She always wants to do this but I always have to say no because Emmy in too little.  Since Emmy was not with us today we spent 30 minutes paddling around the lake.  This was my first time going out on the paddle boats.  It was perfect weather!

Keelin and I headed to Oaklyn Library and she got her own library card!

We put the basketball goal up on the pole when we got back from Indy!

Keelin was determined to make a basket!

I have video of Keelin making her first basket!  (but it won't upload!)
I'll try to upload it in its own post.

The Indianapolis Zoo

On Monday morning, we got up and ate our "free" breakfast in the hotel lobby (our room was FREE too... bonus rewards night...why we planned the trip last minute!  We did not want our free night to expire without use!)  Then we walked across the pedestrian bridge to the zoo.

When you think of a petting zoo...you think of goats, pigs, horses, sheep... NOT SHARKS!
Petting sharks!!  Drew was the only one to pet a shark, but Emmy did try!

And then you get to dry your hands in a shark's mouth!  Keelin thought it was cool...Emmy not so much.  It's funny...she would splash her hands in the water with REAL sharks, but would not go near the fake shark on the wall!
The dolphin show was fun to watch.  The girls really liked this best!

Keelin opening a snakes mouth.
I took Keelin on the roller coaster...she was so excited!  Once she went down the hill...she was NOT a fan.  She had to go 3 times around the track.  She was a good sport and I believe she will go on a roller coaster again.
Both girls enjoyed the carousel!  We also rode the train!

We spent over 4 hours at the zoo!
This was the first time any of us have been to the Indianapolis Zoo.
We will definitely go back!
