Fall Festival

Sunday, October 3:
We took Keelin to the Fall Festival on the first day to ride rides. This is the third year in a row that we have done this with her. Click here to see last year's post.

Keelin enjoying the swings.

Our whole family rode the Carousel.

Keelin was determined to go on the airplane ride. We had to wait in line for awhile to ride it.

Emmy had a great time at the Fall Festival too!

Tuesday night: October 5- We went to the Fall Festival again as a family. We ate lots of yummy food. Drew got his double sausage burger from the Chuck Wagon and I got my white chicken chili from the Young Life booth. Keelin enjoyed a corn dog! She also got dirt and worms! We got steak fries, a kuchen, and puppy chow! I am so glad the Fall Festival only comes around ONCE a year!

Thursday night: October 7- I worked at the Fall Festival! 3 other teachers and I worked the MEO booth. It was crazy busy Thursday night!!!!!!!!! We had a ton of fun. I worked the grill making steak sandwiches!

Mayse Pumpkin Patch

Today we took the girls to Mayse Farm to pick pumpkins. It was chilly and even began to rain right before we left.

Our family on the hayride out to the pumpkin patch.

Emmy was our little pumpkin.

Keelin took right off into the pumpkin patch!

Keelin with the first pumpkin we found.

(and Keelin finding our second pumpkin!)

Keelin showing us how tall she is!
(Speaking of Keelin...she was measured at preschool and she is now 39 1/2 inches tall and 35 lbs.)

Keelin's Preschool Fire Truck Visit

Fire Station 16 came to visit! (It was suppose to be station 15 but they were called out to a car accident.) Station 16 did an awesome job filling in last minute!

Keelin (in green) not paying attention to the firemen talking about "stop, drop, and roll."

I was able to come out and join Keelin for the fire truck visit today! A wonderful teacher at our school agreed to trade gym times with my class so I could join her outside!

First grade listening to a fire fighter talk about what they wear when they go into a fire.

Keelin getting a lift into the fire truck and taking a look around!

Race for the Cure

Today was Race for the Cure! Drew and I got the girls up early this morning to do our normal long run on Saturday morning. We started earlier than normal because of Race for the Cure. We were out the door by 6am this morning. We ran 11 miles and then joined the Holy Spirit team for a nice 5k walk with thousands of other people.
The girls were dressed in pink!

The girls were not too tired to enjoy their toys before we left this morning.

Keelin and Hannah.
Keelin was so excited to walk with Hannah this morning!

Bailey, Kyle, Hannah, and Keelin getting a little climbing time in!
(and I wonder where Emmy gets the climbing from??????)

Emmy is not Walking BUT...She is Climbing!

Emmy is not walking but she is climbing!
Keelin has a desk in her room and I caught Emmy climbing up on it. I pulled her down after I freaked out! I thought it might have been random luck, so I let her try again. She went right back up on top of the desk again like it was no task at all! Note to self...keep Keelin's door closed at all times! or get rid of the desk! AND tonight she attempted to leap off the top of her climbing gym. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! What am I going to do?
Hey Kid...start walking...stop climbing! 2 feet on the ground is much safer!

Emmy had her 12 month check up and shots yesterday. She is 19lbs. 5 oz. and 28 inches.

Happy Birthday Emmy!

Emmy turned 1 today!!! I can't believe a whole year has gone by since she was born.

I finally got a picture of her two bottom teeth.

We had a busy day today! We woke up early and went running. Then we took the girls to the zoo.

This was our best attempt of getting a picture of the girls together.

Keelin and Drew went out on a paddle boat while I fed Emmy her lunch. Keelin has been wanting to go out on one of these for a long time now.

We turned Emmy's carseat around!

We went out to the tavern for Emmy's birthday dinner!

Emmy wasn't too sure about the candle in her ice cream.

First bite of ice cream!

"Mommy, this is COLD!"

Emmy is growing up before our eyes!!! She has her own little personality but what makes her so wonderful is she is always happy!
  • She is not walking yet. She can stand by herself and cruise on furnature and walls. It is only a matter of time.

  • She has mastered quite a few sounds. Da-da is her favorite.

  • She claps and waves. If you say bye or hi...that little hand just starts to wave!

  • She loves the bath tub! She squeals if you take her out.

  • We started her on Enfagrow formula. We will keep her on this for a little while and then try whole milk.

  • She is starting to eat foods that she has to chew. She really likes Cheerios.

Football is Here!

Tonight (actually...as I type this) Michigan State and Notre Dame are playing football! This game is always a rough one in our family!

As you can see...I dressed the girls for bed tonight! Although...Keelin has been saying, "Go Irish!" all day.

Kate left us a sign at the Tavern tonight! As you can see...Drew was not a fan of it!

Colts football is here!!!!

My little cheerleaders...uuugggg! This picture is from last weekend when both teams LOST.
