A Rough Start

Saturday, June 9th:  We arrived at the cabin in the afternoon.  We noticed there were a lot of ants in the kitchen and that there were ant traps on the counters.  No concern...  While we are unpacking, my mom notices Emmy is trying to eat something.  She said, "I am hungry, eat yogurt!"  My mom realized it was an ant trap she was trying to eat, not yogurt.  My dad grabbed it from her and the liquid in it started to spill out.  We asked Emmy if she drank some and she said she did.  We ended up taking her to the Northport Hospital.  On the way there she said her belly hurt, but I wasn't convinced she consumed any.  I smelled the stuff...yuck!  I am sure if any of that stuff touched her lips she would have said yucky.  I think she was scared because grandma, grandpa, and myself were so worried.  When we got to the hospital, we called Poison Control.  They told us to do a child detox. (strip her of the clothes she was wearing, give her a bath, and have her drink water, milk, or juice).  So we picked up a pizza and headed back to the cabin.  An hour later Emmy was fine and Poison Control called us back to check on her.  What a first evening at the cabin!!!

Night 2 went much better!
Sunday, June 10th:  We went back to Northport for ice cream!  Emmy had her first ice cream cone!

The girls got to play at the big playground while my dad ran to the grocery store to get some things we needed at the cabin.

Cabin in the Woods

Here is our cabin!  Same one as last year!

Keelin is pointing to our cabin on the map.

Our cabin is at the bottom of the sign...Highview.  We had the highest cabin on the hill.
View from our cabin

 Waking up in the woods!

 Finding rocks in the woods!
Even "pretending" to wait for the school bus in the woods!

They put on their backpacks and walked down the hill from the cabin and sat down by the road.  I called down to them to see what they were doing... Keelin's response, "We are waiting for the school bus." My response, "You will be waiting for a LONG time!"

Dinner at St. Clairs'

Friday, June 8th:  We went out to my Aunt Lyn and Uncle Larry's house for dinner.  I haven't been out to their house since my wedding shower! (so...10 years ago!)  I loved seeing all the new changes to their house

My mom, my cousin Tracey, and I played some cards with Keelin.

Emmy found my Aunt Lyn's Red Wings collection!

My parents with my Aunt Lyn and Uncle Larry.

Keelin was diagnosed with a double ear infection that morning so she spent some time napping.

She did find some energy later to go outside and play some soccer with Tracey.  It was short lived because the bugs were biting!

At my parents' house I took this picture of the girls to put on a mug for both of my grandmas.  I ordered the mugs before we headed up to the cabin for the week.  They arrived at my parents house right after we returned!

Michigan Vacation

The girls and I just returned home from a 19 day trip to Michigan!  I am still unpacking and getting settled back home.  I just downloaded 420 pictures from my Cannon camera (that doesn't include all the pictures I took on my phone!).  I edited them down to 230 photos and I have 12 posts in the making using around 100 of the photos.  Let's see how long this takes me!

Happy Blogging!  I might spend all day Thursday doing this!!!! since I just heard the high temp is 107 degrees!  Welcome home!

(Here are a couple pictures from before we left for Michigan.)
Wednesday, June 6th-  Since the girls were not going to see their dad for over two weeks we spent some fun time with him before we left.  We went to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch and then to the zoo.

Last Tee Ball Game

Keelin's last tee ball game was tonight.  The team actually has one more game on Friday but we will be in Michigan by then.

The Pirates Team Picture

Silly Pirates!

"GO"

Keelin is #5. Run!

Both Keelin and Hannah lost their hats during the run.

And fixing their hats... always together.

Keelin loved tee ball this spring.  She would like to play again next year.
Now on to swimming, soccer, gymnastics... but only one at a time!  I love that Keelin is so involved and that she wants to try new things.

A Fun Memorial Weekend!

It all started on Thursday!  I got a new phone...a smartphone!

Friday evening:  Keelin had a tee ball game.  They played on the big field by St. Ben's school.  She had a hard time hitting the ball at her first time up to bat so she had to hit off the tee.  Drew is standing in the background.  Blame it on him!  He was pitching to her!

Emmy was as busy as ever!  We ended up over at the playground so she could burn off some energy!
Saturday Morning:  Keelin had another tee ball game!  It was back over at The Little Sisters of the Poor field.  Emmy wanted to walk back and visit Mother Mary.  She is also wearing her new shirt sent to her by my friend Jamie who lives in Denver.

Saturday Evening:  We had family fun night!  We went to Mass at 4pm.  Then to dinner at Turoni's.  We finished off the evening at Orange Leaf for yogurt!

Sunday Morning:  We went biking on the Greenway and had a picnic at Kids' Kingdom.
The first stop was the playground by Bosse Field.
 definitely a trailer for girls!

 picnic time!

Tuesday Afternoon:  Golfing at Wesselman's Par 3
Keelin was an excellent golfer!  She played and finished every hole!  I was so impressed!

(All of the pictures in this post I took on my new phone!)
