Wisconsin: Non-Wedding Events

A long, short weekend to Green Bay, Wisconsin.

We left for Greg and Jen's wedding at 2:30am on Friday morning.  The girls and I picked Drew up at Toyota when he got off work at 3am.  We arrived in Green Bay around noon on Friday.  The girls traveled very well and as you can see... they both took naps in the car.

 Our hotel had a swimming pool, hot tub, and kiddie play area.  The girls were able to swim on both Friday and Saturday!

Since Emmy's 4th birthday is in less than a month, we celebrated her birthday on Saturday afternoon at my aunts' house.  She was excited to open up presents!

Keelin's Soccer

Keelin's soccer at Vann Field started tonight. Her team the "Blue Thunder" had their first practice.  She is playing U7 this fall. Drew is coaching her team again this year.

Conversations with Emmy

The first day of preschool (last Thursday)...
I asked Emmy to tell me about her first day of preschool.
Emmy: My teacher ate a bug... a worm bug!

This morning in the car...
Emmy: I don't want to go to school.
Keelin: Well, Emmy... you better get use to it because we have a lot of school days this year. 180!
Emmy: When I turn into Evanora, I am flying out of here!

This evening when I asked Emmy about preschool...
Drew told me to ask her where God lives, so I did.
Me: Where does God live?
Emmy: He lives in Heaven and he is this big (arms out wide)...but he is NOT scary.

Cardinals and School

 

Drew went on a bus trip to the Cardinals vs Cubs baseball game in St. Louis!

 

 I took the girls to school because I had a lot of prep/copies to make for the first full week of school.  The girls were great for me! (being that we were at school for over 4 hours!)  They kept themselves busy!

 I took them out for ice cream afterwards!

Ellis Park and Otters Baseball

 We took the girls to Ellis Park for the first time last weekend.  Emmy loves horses so we thought this would be something she would really enjoy.

 The horse I bet on... but didn't win anything :(

The night before, Drew took Keelin to an Otters' baseball game.  They had a daddy/daughter date!  Keelin got to play the Courier and Press "deliver the paper" game. She ran the bases delivering newspapers to boxes at each base. They also came home with 2 baseballs!

YMCA 10K Race

I ran the YMCA 10K on a cool Saturday morning!  You rarely get to say "cool" in August!  I had a really good race and it feels good to be running again. My pace was an 8:32 mile.

 

Emmy was so excited to see me near the finish line.

Keelin was crying because she wanted to run with me to the finish but it was still too far away.
