Houghton Lake with the Schanski's

On Friday morning, we packed up our load and headed over to the Higgins/Houghton Lake area.  My friend, Nicole's parents have a house there.  We stayed with them Friday night.

 We went out on their pontoon boat Friday afternoon.

 There are sandbars in the middle of Houghton Lake.  We anchored the boat and the kids jumped in to swim.  Look... even Emmy could touch the bottom.

 On Saturday, we went back out on the boat.  We got to spend time with Nicole's sister's family, too.  Michelle and Jeremy and their two kids, Emma and Gavin.

We had a great couple days spending time with them.  We ended up leaving before dinner because Emmy was in a "mood".  (too much excitement for her!)

Last day at Crystal Lake

Friday morning we went down to Crystal Lake for the last time before leaving.  It was a very calm morning and the lake looked beautiful!

Old Indian Trail

Every year we go to the "Old Indian Trail" to hike out to Lake Michigan.  It is a long hike up and down hills through the woods.  The last quarter mile is up and down sand dunes to get to the lake.  On our way back we made a wrong trail turn and ended up lost... we eventually found our way back to the car!

Golfing

My mom, Drew, Keelin, and I went golfing at Crystal Lake Golf Course.

 

 Keelin rode along with her daddy!  She took a few shots here and there.  She practiced putting at each green.

Bluff Hike

We hiked the trails up the hill behind our cabin.  At the top there are beautiful views of Lake Michigan.
