A Few Firsts

Monday was a beautiful day so I took Emmy outside with me while Keelin was playing on her swing set. This is the first time she was out in the grass!

First time in the bumbo
Emmy is getting so big so fast!

I told Keelin to stay away from the bumbo because she was too big for it. This is her saying..."Look Mommy, I am not too big for it!"

This picture is not a first but I thought it was too cute not to post!
Keelin loves to hold Emmy!

Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkin today!! I asked Keelin what she wanted her pumpkin to look like and she said, "A witch!" So...a witch she got!

More Halloween Pics

Cinderella and her monkey?

Halloween Jailbirds!

Scary CUTE!!!
Here Mommy... have a pumpkin!

So I made "homemade" Halloween cards.
Just because I have 2 kids now doesn't mean I can't find time to do some crafty things for myself. Working on projects like this is my time to ESCAPE from the everyday routine of little girls and all of their needs. It keeps me balanced!

My Little Soccer Player

Is it sad to say my 2 year old daughter can kick a soccer ball around better than her mom?!!! I think soccer might be in her future (not gymnastics). Drew would be thrilled! I have to say I would stress out less if she played soccer!! Soccer would keep her on the ground and out of the air! Only time will tell...

Play Date

Yesterday I watched my friend Jamie's daughter Hannah. Keelin and Hannah are such good friends. They played so well all day yesterday! Both of them were so tired from going all day long...inside playing...outside playing...inside again...outside again! I got them to sit down for about 30 minutes in the afternoon to watch part of Pocahontas (to rest!) and then before I knew it...they were off again!

Boo at the Zoo

We took Keelin and Emmy to Boo at the Zoo yesterday! We had to wait in a very long line to get in and it was cold! We did get to enjoy a beautiful rainbow while we waited. And a rainbow means rain... we got rained on while we waited too.

Keelin dressed up as Cinderella.

In this picture you can see the long line we were in!

Keelin checking on her monkey of a sister.

Keelin loved the "trick-or-treating" !

The only thing Keelin was scared of this year was a little boy in line behind us who was dressed up as spiderman!!! His mom took his mask off in line so Keelin wouldn't be scared! SERIOUSLY!

Drew could not get my flash to go off, but it made for a "spooky" looking picture!

Too Cute

Keelin loves to hold her sister! I will find her sitting on the couch with my boppy wrapped around her saying, "Mommy...I'm ready to hold Emmy!"

Keelin is so proud...Emmy does not feel the same!

Tummy time is getting better.
It is not a complete screamfest anymore.

I put Emmy down for a nap in her "big" crib for the first time on Thursday. She cried...and cried...and cried.

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

I realized many of my last posts have been of mostly Keelin. We are keeping her very busy even with a newborn!!! Emmy is doing great. She is still fussy in the evenings but Drew and I have a system going that works out pretty well. We are both trying to maximize the amount of sleep we get!!! She is 3 1/2 weeks old...where does the time go? Here are some recent pictures I have taken. Keelin is becoming very "hands-on" with Emmy. She was very hesitant at first but now I have to really watch her.

Keelin loves to give kisses!

What's in a name?
Since we did not find out what we were having people have asked what name did we have picked out for a boy. The boy's name was going to be Quinn Jacob. (We had picked out Keene and Quinn back when I was pregnant with Keelin, but we thought Keene was too close to Keelin so we went with Quinn.)
Girl names were much more difficult this time around... Drew and I could not seem to agree on any names. Names we contemplated were Mia, Colleen, Blake, Tarin, and Emmy. A few others were tossed in there too.
My mom's middle name is Jean and Drew's mom's middle name in Jane. So similar but we went with Jane.
So we have ourselves...a little... Emmy Jane.

Evansville Half Marathon

Drew ran in the Evansville Half Marathon Sunday morning. I got the girls up and dressed warm to go down to see Drew run in the race.

Keelin and I ready to go!

Keelin was not very patient waiting along 3rd street downtown Evansville!
She kept saying, "I want to see daddy running!"

It was cold! Emmy was bundled on her side of the jogging stroller!

Drew was excited to see us when he came around the corner at mile 8.

We moved down to the river front to watch Drew finish the race.
Keelin enjoyed some breakfast here...so she was a little more patient!

Drew coming down the river front at the end of the race.
He finished in 1 hour 45 minutes! A new PR for him!

Fall Festival!

Drew and I took Keelin and Emmy down to the Fall Festival yesterday so Keelin could ride the kiddie rides. We met their mamaw and papaw down there. Keelin loved riding the rides and playing games!

Keelin riding the train.

This ride did me in!!!!!!!!! Keelin loved it!

Keelin and Mamaw riding the big slide!

Playing the duck game!

"What am I looking for?"
It's a winner!! Keelin picked out Dora!

Look at all her winnings!!
She also came home with 2 more stuffed toys and a goldfish!

Needless to say...Keelin had fun!
We plan to go back tonight to eat some of the yummy food!
